If this sounds like you
You miss being creative, but somehow you havenât made anything in a while.
You want to play with ideas, make things with your hands, and see what happens when you stop worrying about whether itâs âgoodâ.
Youâre curious about intuitive art and want to explore patterns, textures and marks using whatever you already have around you.
You donât need a studio, a dedicated art room or loads of space. This is made for real homes, real tables and real life.Â
Mostly, itâs for anyone whoâs ready to make things again...
The idea
We're not here to paint well. We're here to find out how good it feels.
Break the material rules
Forget the ârightâ way to make art. Youâll experiment with everyday objects, unusual materials and simple techniques to create unexpected patterns, textures and marks.
Follow your hands
Youâll explore intuitive painting through small prompts and playful exercises that help you make decisions without overthinking them.Â
Make without worrying if itâs good
Youâll let go of the pressure to create something finished or impressive. Thereâs no critique and no perfect end result to chase.Â
Hi, I'm Rachel!
I have always loved creating, making things by hand, painting, crafting, sewing.
If itâs an arty activity - I am up for it!!. The pure and simple act of creating, putting paint on paper, making marks, choosing colours, is endlessly satisfying to me.
I like to use a bit of everything in my work, to mix things up, and make up my own rules. I also love to sew, and have been running a textile side of my business of a few years now.
As a recovering perfectionist, I am now finding so much joy in embracing imperfections, the messy middle, the not having a plan and not knowing where my hands are taking me. Embracing the differences and things that go wrong are all lessons to be learnt and part of the process.
I like to use traditional and unconventional materials, found recourses and love giving ideas a go.
Originally from London, I did attend Art College back in the 90s, I loved my foundation year at Camberwell, but lost my âArtistic Wayâ after my degree in graphic design. I currently live in Nottingham, painting in my bedroom and hoping to inspire others to get out their art materials and just have a play!
When Iâm not creating, I am probably with my family, walking our dog, out in nature or reading a book. After years of being a full time mum whilst also home educating our two kids, itâs finally time for me to come home to myself and get those paints out.
